Abstract. The influence of mass of substrate on yield and morphological features of oyster mushroom carpophores was tested in the experiment. The mass of substrate influenced significantly the yield of oyster strains. The biggest yield was obtained when the bags filled with 24 kg of substrate were used. The highest quality carpophores were obtained when 8 and 16 kg of substrate were applied.

Summary
The influence of mass of substrate on yield of oyster mushroom carpophores was tested. Two strains of oyster mushroom: ‘HK-35’ and ‘P77’ were used in the experiment. Polyethylene bags of different sizes were applied. Bags were filled with 8, 16, 24 and 32 kg of wheat straw substrate. Total and marketable yields were determined as well as morphological features of carpophores.
It was found that the mass of substrate influenced significantly the yield and morphological features of oyster mushroom carpophores. The tested strains gave the biggest yield when the bags filled with 24 kg of substrate were used. The lowest total and marketable yield was obtained from the substrate of 8 kg. The highest quality carpophores were obtained when 8 and 16 kg of substrate were applied.
